Wanheng sets sights on record | Bangkok Post: news

Wanheng Menayothin, front row centre, poses during yesterday’s press conference. WBC minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin will move closer to matching Floyd Mayweather's unbeaten record if he beats Japan's Tatsuya Fukuhara in Nakhon Ratchasima on Nov 25. Wanheng, 32, has won all 48 of his career bouts, 17 of them by knockout, and has defended the crown seven times. Promoter Piyarat Wachirarattanawong told yesterday's press conference that he chose a dangerous challenger because he wants Wanheng to prove that he is the best among all champions of the 105-pound division. Meanwhile, promoter Wirat Wachira- rattanawong said Yodmongkol CP Freshmart is likely to fight Ukraine's Artem Dalakian for the vacant WBA flyweight title early next year.
